You suck.

If you're a boss, a supervisor, or some sort of manager, then don't read this because you suck.

Yes, you suck. Seriously. You really do. According to Bernie Marcus, who blames everything on the benefits of socialism and not the pitfalls of capitalism, people are lazy.  He denies the fact that people are tired of being treated like crap while being paid less than livable wages. At the same time, we are going to lose everything we fought for up to this point, with many thanks to those spoiled generations that were raised by the Boomers AFTER Generation X: Millennials and Generation Z.

What happened to being promoted based on merit or ability? Did we ever promote on merit or ability? Or is it just an egocentric American thing to promote based on cliques, status, or popularity? We cannot talk about extolling the virtues of American-lead capitalism when there are far too many in managerial and supervisory positions who do not belong there. Fact or opinion, you know I'm not wrong. What happened to managers and supervisors being leaders? In fact, what ever happened to REAL leadership? Do we even know what defines REAL leadership? I doubt we do. I know I don't.

We can pretend we know what defines real leadership by going to seminars, reading books, holding workshops, etc. but all we're really doing is delaying the inevitable. Existing conditions benefit no-one. Not even those in the upper echelons. You cannot disrespect (your own) people and still expect to turn a profit. You cannot enslave (your own) people and still expect to maintain a status quo. Likewise, you cannot discredit those who do the actual work and still demand to be followed. Tyrants and despots aren't words reserved to define just political leaders.  How does it benefit your bottom line? How does it benefit your position or title?

Respect has to be earned before it is to be given. Respect has to be commanded before it is to be demanded. Too often, those in managerial or supervisory positions assume their titles or positions automagically entitle them to be respected.
